A four-minute film shows medics forcing a plastic tube through the shackled star's nose and towards his stomach.
The process can take 30 minutes, but in the end Mos Def - or Yasiin Bey as he is now known - was unable to undergo the full procedure and was heard pleading with doctors to "stop, please stop".
The 39-year-old said afterwards: "The first part of it is not that bad, but then you get this burning and it starts to be really unbearable, like something is going into my brain and it reaches the back of my throat.
"I really couldn't take it."
The film, directed by Bafta award-winning filmmaker Asif Kapadia, was launched by the human rights organisation Reprieve as the US government comes under pressure to stop force-feeding Guantanamo detainees during the holy month of Ramadan.
The US has rejected a petition by four of more than 100 detainees said to be refusing food, saying the feedings provide "essential nutritional and medical care" and would not interfere with Ramadan.
Lawyers for the men have described the tube feeding as "barbaric" and have sought assurances that detainees will not be force-fed during daylight hours, when observant Muslims fast.
According to court papers, there are 166 detainees at Guantanamo and 106 of them are on hunger strike over their continued detention without trial.
Of those, 45 are being fed through tubes directly into the stomach.
President Barack Obama has pledged to work towards closing the detention camp in Cuba, which was established in the months after 9/11 to hold terror suspects.
Human rights organisations have condemned its use as a military prison following reports that detainees had been tortured.
