Menifee autistic boy remains found: Young family member arrested, Remains of a Menifee autistic boy who went missing Saturday night in Calif. was discovered in a shallow grave about 75 feet from his home. Washington Post reports July 10 that a partially exposed grave revealed the remains of 11-year-old Terry Dwayne Smith, Jr. early Wednesday. A relative has been arrested on suspicion of murder, but police have not confirmed if it's the autistic boy's 16-year-old brother.

Terry went missing Saturday night about 7:30 p.m. after his mother, Shawna Smith, reportedly went out for the evening and left Terry's older brother in charge of him. The boy's brother was allegedly the last person to see him. Their mother didn't know Terry was missing until Sunday morning.

Terry's remains were found in a shallow hole near a tree in a weedy area. Menifee is about 70 miles southeast of Los Angeles. Terry was said to be a nice kid who never did anything wrong.

Menifee Police Chief John Hill did confirm that the tragic death of the Menifee autistic boy was connected to "a domestic issue."

Other family members have been taken in for questioning over the Terry's murder.
